My challenges were device specific. They evolved from a time limited schedule and budget limited life. However, I think I came away with a strong understanding of program strengths, device transition and a profitable process.  My first adventure with an iPad and my first design within the Procreate program.

Once the illustration was migrated to Photoshop, I reshaped the elements to make a woodblock cut inspired bee pattern. The design, while not connected to a specific corporation, has the ability to traverse a diverse variety of surfaces. The illustration started as a journal cover, but once complete, directed the design aesthetic. As one of the original flower forms is similar to the body language of a surfer or skateboarder. So, I approached merch dev with that narrative in mind.
The design says, "Throw on your hoodie, jump on your board and call me when you get here." The narrative gives identity to the skater. The collection has me so geeked! I can see the skateboarder's body language in the abstract flower art, with hair blowing in the wind, the movement flowing and transcendent.
