NASA MODIS
Three color tee design was inspired by NASA MODIS. The design is a tribute, in celebration, of NASA Live Stream of Earth from the International Space Station (ISS), which started November 12, 2023. The satellite images are made of dreams, connecting people to the exploration of the future.
MODIS is an acronym for Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer, which is one of NASA's tools. It has collected data from the Amazon rainforest in an effort to end illegal, over logging, saving the habitat of tropical plants, like bird of paradise. The radio meter measures density of the canopy. I would be so interested to see MODIS technology applied to our own urban jungle. To observe, preserve and maintain.
My process includes sketch, ink, scan into Adobe Photoshop, color, recolor, reshape, Typography and research. Check out NASA Live and read more about MODIS. I love my Tee design. They are so on type! Dane County Plant Sale
Two color overprint bring all the brights of spring to the Dane County Plant Sale. I love the topic and had so much fun thinking about the geometry that helped give the form life and purpose. What a challenge! If done again, I would better differentiate the chromas, producing a better contrast between the green and the blue.
